The Museum offers a variety of classes including drawing, painting, ceramics, printmaking, photography, watercolor, music and overall art appreciation for children, adults, educators, and families through educational programs and performances in its galleries and studios, and through outreach programs in the community.

The Museum offers many opportunities for continuing education and lifelong learning. You can learn about the history and culture of the Chesapeake Bay and pass this information on to Museum visitors as one of our volunteer docents; engage in the hands-on activities of the Museum's Model Guild; or expand your horizons as a member of the Academy for Lifelong Learning.

The Talbot County Senior Center project is underway. When complete, the new two-story building will be approximately 11,000 square feet in size and will include a beautiful new dining facility and commercial kitchen, exercise room, lounges, arts and crafts room, computer lab and activity areas. The Talbot County Senior Center is owned by Talbot County Government and operated by Upper Shore Aging, Inc.
The Senior Gathering - every Wednesday at SMCC from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Every Wednesday, Seniors are welcome to enjoy a delicious lunch and lots of fellowship with friends. The
seniors have a ton of fun with Bingo every 2nd Wednesday, art class with Marge Richardson every third
Weds. and a new activity or informative presentation is offered on the 1st and 4th Wednesdays of each

ABOUT THE INSTITUTE Established in 2001, the IAL features lifelong learning, luncheon lectures, and special events such as day outings to museums or other attractions within a reasonable driving distance. The IAL is an affiliate of the Elderhostel Institute Network, comprised of over 300 independent community-based organizations of retirement-age people who share a love of learning and a desire for sociability. The Institute offers lifelong learning to senior adults at a reduced cost. By paying membership dues, members are entitled to take as many IAL classes as they choose.
